Looking to celebrate all of the wonderful feelings that come with enjoying fall in New Jersey? Look no further than historic Chester! Teeming with charm and style, Chester’s main thoroughfare offers an abundance of specialty shops and unique dining experiences.
Wander off Main Street/Rte 24 to find historical homes and stunning views of the changing colors of the fall leaves. Taking a stroll through Chester gives an old-timey feel on brick-paved sidewalks as you explore all of the local businesses and shops.
The Historic Chester Business Association’s website offers a charmingly packed events page highlighting all of the unique activities going on throughout the town. You can try creating license plate or wood sign art at The Ant and the Grasshopper. This coming weekend, the Cooper Gristmill is having A Miller’s Halloween, where you can listen to spooky stories while making corn husk dolls and other creepy crafts.
Chester is also central to some of our favorite local farms and parks. Hacklebarney State Park, Cooper Gristmill, and Black River County Park are all prime locations when wanting to take brisk fall hikes or relaxing day trips to admire the autumn foliage.
