The NJspots Team started the New Year with new ideas and goals in mind. Bringing together the community has always been an important part of what we do. This year we are going to be introducing Workshops in addition to more meetups throughout the year. Unlike meetups which are big gatherings in amazing spots around New Jersey, the workshops are going to be more intimate settings with smaller groups of people. The workshops will have specific purposes and topics behind each one so that way more people can learn about different things that they may find interesting. Some topics will relate to photography, types of techniques, professional skills for photographers, and more.
What Are They?
All of the workshops will have tickets available for purchase to ensure that the smaller group is genuinely invested in the topics and can help provide real feedback and discussions during the events. The workshops will also have leaders or hosts that are professionals or well-trained experts in those topics that are being covered. The NJspots Workshops are created to help elevate those interested in pursuing their careers further or just enhancing their own hobbies. We will have several topics and sessions beginning to be released during the year.
Where Are They?
Depending on the topic, some workshops will be hosted outside at specific locations (night photography, drones, etc.) and some of them will be hosted inside (photoshop, editing, etc.) with workspace to get hands-on with the topics. Our workshops that are hosted inside will be at Work Home in Millburn, NJ. Work Home are exclusive partners of NJspots starting in 2018 and is a great space to provide a unique working space while supporting a local business. Learn more about Work Home on our partners page.
How Much Are Tickets?
Depending on the space and the requirements to host the workshops, tickets will generally range from $15-30 per person. The tickets will allow entry for one person for the workshop, which will grant them access to the event, the discussions, connections with the hosts, and having access to the leaders after the event for follow up questions. The ticket fees will allow NJspots to cover the site fees (when applicable), buy any supplies needed (including coffee/beverages), and provide compensation for the hosts.
When Do They Start?
The first workshop of 2019 is on Saturday, February 2nd from 10am-12pm. We will be hosting our event at Work Home in Millburn, NJ, focusing on branding and online presence for photographers — and more! We will be posting all workshops and meetups on our calendar, so keep your eyes peeled for new ones. Also, be sure to sign up for our emails so you don’t miss out on when tickets go on sale!
