Summer is around the corner and Asbury Park is the place to be this year!

A few miles off exit 102 on the Garden State Parkway and you’ll find yourself in a beautiful city filled with iconic landmarks, an attractive beach, shops, inexpensive bars, and some impressive restaurants.

Boardwalk Mural Tour in Asbury Park

You’re going to want to whip your camera out for these spots. Asbury Park is filled with some astonishing murals! Head on over to the boardwalk and start your walk on the north end of the beach. With the oceans waves on your left and the murals on your right. One of the firsts you’ll see is a mural by Valdi-Valdi, a set of striking blue eyes. Keep going a bit more and you’ll spot one done by Porkchop, a pinup mermaid. We’re going to leave finding the other abstract paintings up to you!

Grabbing Some Grub in Asbury Park

After walking the boardwalk you can grab a bite to eat from one of several restaurants. Depending on what you want Asbury, has got you covered! Check out Porta on Kingsley for some bomb pizza, or take a walk down cookman for some epic burgers at Brickwall, and if it’s around noon hit up Toast for a light, yet filling lunch. Whatever establishment you pick you will not be disappointed!

Shopping in Asbury Park

While walking off that food you can grab some new music gear from Russo’s Music on Lake Ave, a record from Holdfast on Cookman Ave, and some wicked apparel from Glide Surf Co. on Bangs Ave.

Alright so, you found all the murals, you tanned on the sand, cooled off in the ocean, grabbed some brunch, purchased a drum kit, finally found the B-sides of Fleetwood Macs record, got a new surfboard and witnessed a stunning sunset. Don’t pack your bags just yet, there are still dozens of activities you can do at nightfall.

Night Time Entertainment in Asbury Park

The Summer Stage at the well-known Stone Pony is where you’ll want to catch your next concert; with the ocean breeze hitting your back, and your favorite band shredding it is truly epic. If it isn’t your favorite band and you just want to hear some awesome music you can head to the rooftop bar at the Watermark for only $5 and catch the whole show from there.

Don’t feel like hearing a live band? Don’t fear you can head into the infamous Convention Hall and grab a drink at the Anchors Bend beach bar! That’s right! You can kick back right on the sand, have a cold one, or a hot one (however we recommend cold drinks).

If you prefer to stay in more of an urban area head down Cookman Ave and grab a few drinks at one of the bars on that street. One place we recommend checking out is Johnny Macs, you get a free personal pizza with your drink! It does not get cooler than that. The bar is filled with riddles, poems, and fun facts so you can solve some riddles, gain some knowledge and stuff your face!

If you don’t care for the sand, bands, booze, and hangovers take a stroll down Cookman Ave, catch an indie film at The Showroom, grab some ice cream at Cookman Creamery, or do both!

Whatever you decide to do in Asbury Park you will not be let down. Whether you hunt the murals, eat the pizza, drop your ice-cream cone, dance like nobody is watching, tan in the sun, share your Asbury experience with us!
