This past weekend, NJspots hosted an Earth Day-themed meetup to cleanup a local park on Saturday, April 20.

A few dedicated environmental stewards met up at the Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst, New Jersey to walk the boardwalk and clean up trash in the surrounding area.
The weather was rainy, but that didn’t stop us from collecting 91 pounds of trash! We saw everything from Dunkin Donut’s cups, to chip bags, to shards of glass. Cleaning up this area means a better world for the 285 species of birds that fly through here, and a better place for everyone who visits the Meadowlands.

This Earth Day, take some time to do one thing for the Earth — whether it’s picking up trash on your way to your car, taking a shorter shower to conserve water, or ditching single-use plastic when you can. We can all make a difference!
