Whether photography is a passionate hobby or a professional job, when we all start out with our first cameras we are all a bit clueless. Generally, we start in “auto” mode and just start snapping. There are a lot of factors to consider when taking landscape photos. Sometimes if it’s not the right time of day, then your photos could end up blown out — or maybe you didn’t focus on the right part of the photo to give you the most details. These are two of my favorite techniques to use to capture the most detail in my landscape photography.
The NJspots Team started the New Year with new ideas and goals in mind. Bringing together the community has always been an important part of what we do. This year we are going to be introducing Workshops in addition to more meetups throughout the year. Unlike meetups which are big gatherings in amazing spots around New Jersey, the workshops are going to be more intimate settings with smaller groups of people. The workshops will have specific purposes and topics behind each one so that way more people can learn about different things that they may find interesting. The Best of 2018 Photo Contest was the first of it’s kind. Normally the NJspots contests are running on Instagram, but we wanted to open up the competition to be bigger than just Instagram users. With 126 photo entries, 3539 votes, and over 36,250 views this was one of the greatest contests we have hosted.
