No, New Jersey will never be confused with France, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Australia, or California when it comes to wine, but the Garden State does have 51 wineries spread throughout the state, stretching from Cape May County to Sussex County.

Deep in Burlington County, not far from I-295, you can find Iron Plow Vineyards. Iron Plow is a boutique winery using sustainable practices to grow and bottle an assortment of small batch wines on a beautiful estate.

The vineyards are set on 62 acres of farmland and are open to the public. The winery boasts a small tasting room, a large patio, and acres of land to sit in and stroll around. Fire pits dot the area for cooler evenings and romantic encounters. You can even play a rousing game of cornhole.

The facility is pet friendly — in their words “as long as the pet is friendly”. Check out our list of dog-friendly breweries in New Jersey if you bring your furry friend everywhere!

Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons generally feature live entertainment. The music ranges from the county/rock Grouser Girls, to 60s and 70s standards by Ed Wilson and Carol Brooks. Food trucks are a frequent addition to the lively scene.

The winery produces varietals and blends from Cabernet Sauvignon to Blueberry Wine. You can get a tasting flight or buy a bottle or two to share with friends. Warmer summertime temperatures feature homemade sangria and wine slushies.

Sitting outside on a warm summer evening, sipping some sangria, eating some snacks, listening to some music, and being with good friends is about as good as it gets!

Iron Plow allows you to bring your own snacks, order delivery from some local restaurants, or buy a cheese platter in the tasting room. You can also purchase branded items with their tagline – “I got Plowed at Iron Plow Vineyards”.
