The Meadowlands is one of New Jersey’s hidden gems for kayaking, bird-watching, wetlands exploring, and more! And we got to see that first hand on a pontoon tour this week courtesy of NJSEA — the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
NJSEA is the regional planning and zoning agency for the 30.4-square-mile Hackensack Meadowlands District, which includes well-known MetLife Stadium, the Meadowlands Racetrack, and soon-to-open American Dream, but also manages the parks and wild spaces in the Meadowlands, which is home to over 300 species of birds!
We got an amazing up-close and personal look at the wetlands via pontoon, including osprey and their nests, red-tail hawks, Great Blue Herons, cormorants, snowy egrets, and more!
Thank you to all those that came out to enjoy this Tuesday evening with us! We were happy to have you and looking forward to hosting some more meetups like this in the future!
Here are some snaps and captures from the meet!
